Rosie Girl Bakery
As I am writing this I am happily enjoying a slice of lemon pound cake with butter cream frosting. Let me tell you, if I could reach through your computer screen and feed this to you myself I would- it's that good.
Yesterday morning I got to spend a few hours with Aimee Edwards- owner and baker of Rosie Girl Bakery (Columbia, SC). It was a morning of laughter, and sugar, and me being completely mesmerized by Aimee's cake making skills. One thing that I am striving for is to be more intentional about is learning about other peoples passions. I love finding out what excites someone, and when a person is able to make a business out of that passion, I am behind them 100%!
Up until recently, Aimee was working in a job she wasn't excited about and was dreaming about being able to own her own business. She took her time and made it to the point that she was able to leave her job and devote herself full time to the business that she had been dreaming about. She make desserts to order in addition to running a baked goods cart that you can find each Saturday at the Soda City Market.
If one thing stood out to me during this shoot it was the authenticity that Aimee adheres to. She knows what she is passionate about, she knows what her style is, and her eye for all things lovely is on point. When talking about her style, Aimee lights up as she describes the simplicity that is seen through her cakes. The idea is that more is not always more is a rule that you can see through Aimee's creations and she lets her ingredients speak for themselves.
Enjoy some shots from yesterday morning and be sure to reach out to Aimee for any special occasions!
Isn't her joy just contagious? I'm so thankful I get to surround myself with other woman pursuing their passion and taking risks. Interested in sharing your business and showing off what brings you joy? Lets chat and see how we can work together!
